Mt. Hebron Cemetery, the largest and oldest public burial ground currently in use in this area, includes graves of many Revolutionary soldiers, including that of General Daniel Morgan.

Stonewall Cemetery is the resting place for close to 3,000 Confederate soldiers. The church ruins, seen from the entrance, are the last remnants of the Lutheran Church built by German settlers beginning in 1764.

National Cemetery is directly across the street from the Stonewall Cemetery. It is the resting place of 4,491 Union soldiers (2,381 are unknown). It was dedicated on April 8, 1866 and is maintained by the Federal Government.

Cemeteries are located on National Avenue in Winchester.
